It’s such a great venue to showcase the art because there’s a beautiful rose garden in the middle,” she said. She said Liberty Station is an ideal environment because of its accessibility and the fact that Liberty Station is known as an arts hub. Sandi Cottrell is the managing director of ArtWalk San Diego. ArtWalk officials said they will follow whatever safety guidelines are in place by the county at the time of the event. Or look at more photos from San Diego on my Instagram grid or in my Facebook photo albums. This weekend, over 200 artists will head to Arts District Liberty Station for the latest installment of ArtWalk, San Diego’s venerable art festival. USS Midway, Seaport Village and Embarcadero I have many more posts to share with you about San Diego that will include: Individually handmade pots, vases, and teapots from Cindy TeyroĪnd sadly I didn’t get the contact for the next artist but I just thought how the lady with the bicycle would have made a perfect subject for one of her paintings. Do check out the Teyros Collection by Cindy Teyro and read about how she individually hand makes each one. There was something eccentrically English about them. Lots of the sculptures were huge pieces for a luxury home or garden but a stall featuring tabletop designs caught my eye. There were many types of art featured with something for all price tags. (I will share more from the Carlsbad and Oceanside Street Art Tour in another blog.) Michael Summers explosions of colour Later during the holiday, I discovered more of Michael’s work in the form of Street Art in Carlsbad San Diego and I’m sure you can imagine how much more impressive it was to see the whole of the building covered in his art. You can’t help but smile when you look at his work, and be in awe as you watch him work. Next up was Michael Summers who paints mostly nature with an explosion of colour. Look closely and see what you find More Clovis Art I spent a long time chatting with Jerry as he explained his art background and thoughts behind his work.

Today I would love to share with you some of my favourite artists, who all gave permission for their art and stand to be photographed for this blog.Ĭlovis (Jerry Clovis Art & Music) was the first artist that I came across and I was mesmerised by this piece, not just because I love music but if you look closely you will see there is so much more to this piece than originally meets the eye. There are several museums in Arts District who waive their entrance fee during art walk and of course, there are places to eat, drink or just sit in the Californian sunshine. Mooch around the stalls watching the artists work and stop for a chat to admire and hopefully buy some of their work. You can experience art of all types: sculptures, photography, canvas, oil, etc., and some live music too.
ART WALK LIBERTY STATION FREE
This is a free attraction where 100s of artists display their work in the historical setting of Arts District Point Loma.Īrt Walk is an annual event that has been running for more than a decade and also takes place in Carlsbad and in Little Italy at different times of the year, although charges may apply there. I love art and I love free things to do whilst on holiday so when I discovered that Art Walk was happening at Liberty Station, San Diego I was extremely excited, as it coincided perfectly with my road trip in August.
